LED Neon vs Glass Neon...what's the difference?
At Sketch & Etch we only use LED Neon technology to create your Neon masterpieces.
We often get asked what the difference is between LED Neons and traditional glass Neons, and which is better. Ultimately, it comes down to preference but here's a breakdown of why we choose to work with LED Neon.
Traditional Neon signs were created from glass and gas, with the glass being heated, shaped to the desired design, and filled with gas.
Sketch & Etch Neon signs use LED tubing which is often referred to as 'LED Neon' tubing. It is flexible and is powered by electricity. This means that it is cool to touch, and also less fragile than traditional glass Neons. It also means that you can adjust the brightness and speed of your Neon sign, all through the provided remote control!

Installation and energy consumption 🌿
The materials used to make Sketch & Etch Neons are all relatively lightweight and are designed to be easily installed using fishing wire, 3M strips or screws.
Depending on the size of a sign, both traditional and LED Neons can offer bright and energy efficient signage options.
Our LED Neon signs are designed to run on 12 volts power, and are operated using standard power adapters like the kind you would use for your laptop.
Both traditional and LED Neons generally have a good lifespan.
Our Neons are created to give you years of enjoyment, with the average Neon lasting around 50,000 hours when used correctly.
The materials used mean that our Neon signs are sturdier than traditional glass Neons and are much less susceptible to accidental breakage.
